In 2013, the New York Observer asked me to write a lengthy article recounting how news of the Kennedy assassination broke. That assignment led me to track down some reporters who were there. It also renewed my interest in the story of Merriman Smith’s assassination coverage, which I knew through journalism lore.

Currently I’m an editor and writer at the New York Daily News. My work has appeared in the New York Post, The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch.com, Politico New York, and other publications. I bring to this project more than three decades of experience as a news reporter and editor.
